5月3日 (火) "Golden Week Holidays" ゴールデンウィーク

I have been spending Golden Week holidays leisurely. It's a good thing that I can relax this way after a while and do whatever I want to . Today my daughter and I went to the sea with Choko, our pet dog. Blessed with fine weather, we had a good time.
ゴールデンウィークは久しぶりに自由にやりたいことをやってのんびり過ごしています。今日は娘と一緒にペットのチョコ（チワワ8ヶ月）を連れて海に行って来ました。天気も良いし最高でした。

5月4日 (水) Chihuahua & Papillon Party チワワ＆パピヨンパーティ

My pet dog Choko and I attended "Chihuahua & Papillon Party" held by Musashi Pet Center. More people with their dogs than I had expected gathered together. There were a demonstration of grooming and training, a time for food tasting, and others. Choko, our long-haired Chihuahua, was so happy with a variety of food samples offered including ice cream and jelly for dogs.
ムサシペットセンターで催されたチワワ＆パピヨンパーティに行ってきました。思ったよりたくさんの参加者、と言うか、参加犬がいました。トリミングの実演やしつけの実演おやつ試食会もあってなかなか楽しかったです。犬用のアイスクリームやゼリーまでありました。チョコ（うちのロングコートチワワ）大満足。

5月7日 (土) Making a T-shirt for My Pet Dog Choko 　チョコのTシャツ作り

As I found a nice book for making dogs’ wear, I got on it right away. I used to make clothing for my family and myself when my children were small. The most troublesome part was to make a pattern for my dog's clothing because he is a little bit too fat as a Chihuahua. I had bought two T-shirts with the same pattern on them so that he and I could dress in matching outfits. Voila! I made it. I'm afraid I may sound a little stupid...
かわいいイヌの服の本を見つけたので、早速作ってみました。今は全然やらなくなりましたが、昔はよく家族や自分の服を作っておりました。娘のお人形の服もたくさん作りました。型紙を作るのに少し手間取りましたが、ばっちり出来上がりました。いかがです？同じ模様のTシャツを２枚買ってきて私とチョコのペアルックが完成！犬バカと言われそうですが・・・

5月23日 (月) New Cloth for Choko チョコの新作お洋服

Here is the second clothes for Choko. I remade my old T-shirt into a cute camisole. It looks cool and nice. According to the book I read, small indoor dogs definitely need clothing to keep them warm in winter. Small dogs, especially Chihuahuas, are sensitive to cold. And then in summer, to protect them from the strong sunshine. Choko has a black fur and will get real hot under the sun. The author of the book says it is a good idea to dress them with a T-shirt after wetting it a little with water when we walk them in summer. It also prevents their body from getting dirty. So it comes in handy. For your information, my dog doesn't wear anything in the house.
チョコちゃんの洋服第二弾。私の昔のノースリーブTシャツをリフォームしてキャミソールを作りました。結構かわいくできました。夏向きで涼しそうで気に入っています。私の読んだ本によれば、小型の室内犬、特にチワワは冬は寒さに弱いため、また夏は強い日差しから身体を守るため洋服は必需品だそうです。散歩の時、夏はTシャツを水で軽くぬらして着せてあげると良いらしいです。チョコのように黒い犬は特に暑くなるので白っぽいTシャツが良いみたい。お腹が汚れるのを防ぐこともできるので重宝しています。

5月24日 (火) Lunch at Blanc･Chateaux withTamami 　たまみさんとブランシャトーでランチ

My friend, Tamami, who works in an accounting office as an accountant in New York, came back temporarily for her visa extension. When I first met her some years ago, she was just twenty years old and was studying in a college near New York. Now she has become a working woman and I think she has become much more charming than ever before.
We had lunch at Blanc･chateaux near Sanjo Station. This restaurant serves French cuisine in the evening and I hear it's rather expensive, but during the lunch time it serves two types of reasonable spagetti lunch dishes. They come with salad, and desert and drink, which you can choose from the menu. I love their pudding with deliciously burned caramel sauce. One thousand yen for this is really a good bargain.
お友達、と言っても超若いんですが、今ニューヨークの会計事務所で会計士として働いているたまみさんがビザのために帰国、久しぶりに会いました。数年前に知り合った時は２０歳で（もしかして１９歳？）ニューヨークの近くの大学に通ってました。今日はブランシャトーというお店で一緒にランチ食べましたが、ここは私は２度目です。三条駅のそばにあます。夜は結構高級なフレンチを出してるようですが、昼は手ごろなスパゲティランチを週代わりのメニューで出しています。二種類のランチから選ぶことができ、サラダとデザート、飲み物がついてます。デザートと飲み物は選べますが、私はここの焼きプリンが気に入ってます。それで１０００円は絶対お得だと思います。
